High School To Life Transitions Semester Course
This course is open to senior students. Students will prepare for their transition to life after high school, whether that be college, military or the world of work. All students will focus on the state of Idaho graduation requirement of the Senior Project while in this course, this course will be the accountability piece between the student and Columbia High School.
In addition, this course is geared on assisting students with the their "whats next plans", the course involves many guest speakers from the outside world, focuses on skill sets to be successful employees, citizens, and community members. Special focus is also given to students in the following areas:
College Bound:
College search, application, financial aid, and scholarship processes. In addition, the course focuses on how to "get the most" out of their college experience.
Military Bound:
ASVAB Prep, recruiter assistance, life after the military
World of Work:
Employability Soft Skills, Job Seeking Skills, Internships, Apprenticeships, Interest Inventories.
All students will receive training in the website Career Information Systems, assisting with all aspects mentioned above.
